History of the Lodi-Woodbridge Rose Society

Organized October 23, 1998
Written by Michael Devencenzi

The Lodi / Woodbridge Rose Society was established on October 23, 1998. Many of the charter members are still very involved with the society today.

Lodi / Woodbridge Rose Society members have been very active within the local community performing community service for the Lodi / Woodbridge area. We have planted roses in the Veterans Memorial, annually pruned and provided roses for the local hospital, helped choose and plant rose trees at our community center and of course we host the annual Fall Rose Show and Celebration. The society has been proactive in spreading the word about roses.

The rose was officially adopted by the Lodi City Council as the official flower of Lodi thanks to the perseverance of our members. Although, as with the rose itself our roots are important, the Lodi / Woodbridge Rose Society prefers to look ahead into the future, to better serve its members and the community.
